Welcome to The Hamilton Diner, a beloved spot in the heart of Seekonk, MA. Our story is one of passion, dedication, and family heritage.
The Hamilton Diner officially opened its doors on June 10, 2024, but its roots run much deeper. I grew up inspired by my yiayia (grandmother), Elly, and her remarkable journey. Elly was born on July 6th, 1933, in the village of Manikia in Evia, Greece. She moved to the Bronx, NY in 1947 and eventually settled in Windham, NY. On December 26th, 1955, Elly married Aristides Lucas (Lykos), a dedicated family man and businessman. Together, they owned and operated The Hamilton Motel in Windham, NY for 49 years, creating a well-regarded establishment known for its welcoming atmosphere and dedicated customer service.
helping with various tasks and learning the importance of hard work from my grandparents. Elly was known for her compassionate spirit and love for cooking, sharing positivity and love through her culinary creations, storytelling, and kind gestures. My love for cooking was nurtured in my yiayia's kitchen, where I often watched and helped her prepare meals.
Inspired by my yiayia's legacy, I decided to honor her by naming my diner after The Hamilton Motel. I bring over 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry to The Hamilton Diner, having worked as a cook, kitchen manager, and general manager. I spent countless hours perfecting recipes, crafting the ambiance of the diner, and ensuring every detail was just right. My dedication and strategic planning, lessons I learned from Elly, have been key to the diner's success.
I am not alone in this journey. My fiancée, Katie, is my biggest supporter, and together we balance the demands of the diner with raising our 3-year-old son, TJ, and supporting our foster daughter, Sarah, who is now a young adult. Katie's encouragement and involvement are crucial, and TJ's laughter brings joy and motivation to our lives. Sarah, with her bright spirit and enthusiasm, has become an integral part of our family, bringing even more love and warmth into our home. She is currently pursuing her own dreams and ambitions, and we are incredibly proud of her.
Katie brings a wealth of experience and compassion to our family and the diner. Before joining me in this venture, she worked as a social worker for over a decade. Her background in social work has given her a deep understanding of people's needs and the importance of community support. Katie's ability to connect with others, offer support, and navigate challenging situations has been invaluable in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment at The Hamilton Diner.
Her experience has also been instrumental in fostering a positive work culture, where our team feels valued and supported.
As for me, my journey has been shaped by hard work and dedication, both as a family man and a father. Balancing the responsibilities of running a diner and being present for my family is no small feat, but it is a challenge I embrace wholeheartedly. My days often start before dawn and end late at night, filled with the tasks of managing the diner, perfecting recipes, and ensuring our customers have the best experience possible. Despite the long hours, I always make time for my family. Whether it's reading bedtime stories to TJ, helping Sarah with her projects, or sharing a quiet moment with Katie, these moments are the ones that fuel my passion and drive.
At The Hamilton Diner, we emphasize the importance of family togetherness, creating a warm and welcoming environment where families can come together and enjoy quality time. We believe the best memories are made with family.
At The Hamilton Diner, we believe in the importance of adaptability and problem-solving. My ability to think creatively and find solutions to challenges, a trait I inherited from my yiayia, ensures that we always provide the best experience for our customers.
Following Elly's example, we listen to our customers' feedback and adapt our offerings to meet their needs. We strive to build strong relationships with our customers, making their satisfaction a cornerstone of The Hamilton Diner's success. Our team is dedicated to providing a warm, welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels at home. We go above and beyond to ensure that each visit is memorable, from the quality of our food to the friendliness of our service. At The Hamilton Diner, our customers become part of our family, and we cherish the connections we build with each and every one of them.
Our team is more than just employees; they are family. We share a commitment to excellent service and foster a positive work culture, encouraging open communication and collaboration, much like my yiayia did with her motel staff.
We are committed to continuous learning and improvement. I constantly seek new ways to innovate and enhance the diner's offerings, embodying a mindset of growth and development inspired by my yiayia's lifelong learning.
Elly Lucas's legacy continues to inspire us every day, and her spirit of warmth and hospitality lives on in everything we do.
Thank you for being a part of our story. We look forward to serving you and making you feel at home at The Hamilton Diner.
